Formed in 1991, CommunityWorks in West Virginia, Inc. (CWWV) has served to unite housing-related agencies and organizations to assure safe affordable housing for West Virginians. CommunityWorks, is a statewide intermediary organization made up of local agencies and organizations that provide housing-related services throughout the state of West Virginia. CommunityWorks, has been a chartered member of NeighborWorks America (NWA) since 1996, and is a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the United States Department of the Treasury. In 2020 CommunityWorks built and established the Home Ownership Center to better assist clients with housing counseling and lending needs.

CommunityWorks in West Virginia is incorporated.

1996

CommunityWorks in West Virginia becomes a chartered member of NeighborWorks America.

2008

CWWV is approved by USDA Rural Development Intermediary Relending Program to provide a commercial revolving loan fund to commercial developers in rural communities.

2013

CWWV becomes a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) with the U.S. Department of Treasury

2020

CommunityWorks completes the construction of the Home Ownership Center building.
