Craig Petry began his journey as Executive Director of CommunityWorks in West Virginia in May 2022. Prior to this position, Craig spent several years managing Community Service Block Grants (CSBG) for the Community Advancement Division of the WV Department of Economic Development. It was during this time that he truly developed a passion for service work that benefits fellow West Virginians. Craig spent 13 years at BB&T (now Truist) with 9 years dedicated to lending and branch management. He also had several entrepreneurial opportunities throughout his career. The culmination of his experience has led to the perfect fit for leading the CommunityWorks team. Craig is a graduate of Herbert Hoover High School. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration (Management) from WV State University and a M.B.A. from Marshall University. Craig is also a graduate of BB&T’s prestigious Leadership Development Program. Craig resides in Elkview with his wife Emily and 4 children. They are the Senior Pastor family at Amplify Church in Big Chimney. Craig is also a vocalist with The Lordsmen.

Shamika Robinson
Mortgage Loan

Shamika Robinson became a Mortgage Loan Originator for CommunityWorks in West Virginia, Inc (CWWV) in December 2021. Prior to working for CWWV, Shamika worked as an Inspections Supervisor for the Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly known as Section 8) at Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority. Shamika’s former work as an Inspections Supervisor and Housing Specialist really built her desire and passion for homeownership, tenant safety and renovation. Prior to living in West Virginia, Shamika served as a Case Manger for Severely Mentally Ill individuals in Arizona. Shamika has worked in social services positions for over 25 years which include, but are not limited to: residential recovery services, homelessness prevention and assistance, family reunification, and child development. Due to her vast knowledge and variety of skills, Shamika has become a great asset to the CommunityWorks in West Virginia team.

Joyce Brown
Housing Counselor

Joyce is the newest member of CommunityWorks, joining the team in September 2023. Joyce has an extensive background with over 20 years in state government, education, and training. Most recently, Joyce spent 10 years working with youth at Charleston Job Corp. Joyce brings a passionate energy to her role and is eager to help others on their journey to home ownership and financial freedom. Joyce is a HUD certified counselor and is working on certifications in Housing Counseling, Rental Counseling, Pre-Purchase and Post Purchase Counseling through NeighborWorks America. She currently holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from West Virginia University Institute of Technology. Joyce remains active in her hometown of Montgomery as a member of the Morris Creek Watershed Association and volunteering at Montgomery General Hospital. In her free time, it is likely you will find Joyce singing in various local venues and churches.

Trenton Hilbert
Internship Coordinator

Trenton Hilbert joined CommunityWorks as the Internship Coordinator in August 2024, bringing with him a strong background in collegiate grant administration and a deep passion for helping and educating others. His faith and motivation drive him to create opportunities for individuals to learn about the nonprofit sector and the world of affordable housing. Before joining CommunityWorks, Trenton managed the West Virginia Invest Grant at West Virginia University at Parkersburg, where he played a key role in helping students pursue educational opportunities they once believed were out of reach. During this time, he also earned a Board of Governors degree, completing certifications in areas such as cybersecurity, business marketing, finance, psychology, and business ethics. Following his time at WVUP, Trenton transitioned to state government, working with the Community Services Block Grant. There, he spent several years developing his passion for service and community impact. Outside of work, Trenton is actively involved in his church, helping lead the youth ministry program at Amplify Church in Big Chimney.

Amanda O’Neill joined Community Works in West Virginia, Inc. in 2026 as Executive Assistant, bringing with her several years of experience in education, administration, and community service. Prior to joining Community Works, Amanda worked as a special education paraprofessional and assistant teacher, where she developed a strong foundation in organization, communication, and supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Amanda is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Education Studies through Grand Canyon University and plans to bridge her degree into a Master’s program in Finance. Her passion for lifelong learning and professional development reflects her commitment to helping organizations and communities grow and succeed.

A lifelong West Virginian, Amanda is dedicated to serving her community and helping create opportunities for individuals and families throughout the state. She is passionate about community development, education, and initiatives that strengthen local communities and improve quality of life.

In addition to her role at Community Works, Amanda owns Amanda Beth Photography LLC and resides in Elkview with her husband and kids. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, serving in her church, hiking, kayaking, traveling, and exploring the beauty of the Mountain State. Her faith, dedication to service, and passion for helping others continue to guide both her professional and personal endeavors.
